Target audience analysis

Age

for our film we have decided to make it with a rating of 15. we think that this will work as we have looked at many different horror films and what we plan to make matches the sorts of things you would find in 15 rated films, our biggest inspiration for this was black Christmas which we got a lot of inspiration from.

for the trailer we would make it with the same rating as we would the full film, this will help us advertise the film to our target audience aged 15-25.

Ethnicity

the majority of our cast would be Caucasian all originating from Britain. though we have a cast like this it wont affect which audiences attract as we are creating a mainstream film and the ethnicity of the characters wont affect the film or audience in any way.

Gender

our main character is a 9 year old boy called Ethan. he has brown hair and blue eyes. this character is what you would expect of a small child and is very innocent and still believes in Santa Claus.

the other main character is the killer, he counter stereotypes Santa Claus and makes him evil.

Socio-economic groupings

the class profile for the majority of characters in the film is DE but our trailer will aim for an audience of C2DE because they will likely be able to relate to the characters.

Nationality/Region

Our film is set in birmignham and our whole cast is also from there. We do not think this will have an effect on our audience as it is not something important to the film. As its location isnt the focus people from other places wont be affected in there opinion of the film by its location.
